The Swiss–Iraqi Business Association (SIBA) celebrated its official launch at Switzerland Global Enterprise in Zurich, welcoming more than 60 participants from across Switzerland. Held under the patronage of the Embassy of Iraq in Bern and the Embassy of Switzerland in Baghdad, the event showcased the vast opportunities for Swiss corporations and SMEs to participate in Iraq’s historic phase of economic transformation.

At the heart of the discussions were Iraq’s landmark megaprojects: the Development Road, linking Asia and Europe through Iraq; the expansion of Fao Port, poised to become one of the largest in the region; the Baghdad Metro Project, reshaping urban mobility in the capital; and the new Central Bank of Iraq headquarters, a symbol of financial modernization. Together, these initiatives represent billions in investment and open significant avenues for Swiss expertise in infrastructure, engineering, finance, technology, and services.
The event was honored by the presence of H.E. the Ambassador of Iraq to Switzerland and Mr. Mohammed Hassan Al Najjar, CEO of the Iraq Fund for Development, who emphasized the urgency of international partnerships to accelerate Iraq’s growth.

SIBA was founded by the business women Ms. Rasha Oudeh (President), Iraqi attorney-at-law Mr. Muqdad Al-Juboori, and Swiss attorney-at-law Mr. Maurice Choquard. As an independent, non-profit platform, SIBA is committed to fostering partnerships, supporting market access, and strengthening bilateral trade between Switzerland and Iraq.
